Hybrid – 3 days home working, 2 days office – Burton on Trent
My client is a specialist clinical trial supply company that pride themselves on delivering an exceptional service to their customers and have built strong partnerships and networks on a global level to enable them to provide the best products for a variety of clinical trials.
Due to expansion, they are seeking a Logistics Co-ordinator with pharmaceutical experience to support operations and compliance activities within their European Head Office in Limerick. This role will be part office/home based.
Key Responsibilities:
- Co-ordinate and execute the shipping of products on a global basis ensuring all activities conform to GDP
- Creation and management of shipping documents, internal and external, on a global basis
- Management and execution of inbound deliveries with the warehouse(s) including scheduling, receipt of products, stock inventory reconciliation
- Arrange transportation and orchestrate deliveries to meet customer demand with limited delay, including but not limited to; obtaining shipping costs, scheduling collections and deliveries, resolving issues and seeing the process through all the way through to delivery
- Handling import and export procedures as required, with the courier and/or warehouse
- Supporting the arrangements for shipping hazardous products
- Temperature monitoring of shipments and the associated tasks to include documenting and escalating excursions and deviations to Senior Management.
- Courier relation support and key contact for courier requirements
- Warehouse relation support and key contact for shipping and distribution
- Support reviews of freight costs, transportation rates, and route validations
- Proactively identify opportunities to reduce shipping costs (inbound and outbound) with strategies such as group collections for orders
- Operational reporting and administration tasks
- Maintain a thorough understanding of the required Standard Operating Procedures (SOP); and ensure one’s actions are in line with the SOP’s and Good Distribution Practice
- Ensure that the highest level of service is delivered to clients and service providers
- Maintain a thorough understanding and knowledge of the SOP’s and internal polices and ensure one acts in accordance with these at all times
- Maintain a high level of communication both external with suppliers, vendors and clients and internally with the team
- Work closely with the Clinical Trial account management team to ensure that the product collection and delivery process is streamlined for every customer order and effective communication is achieved
- Maintain a high level of accurate documentation in line with internal policies and procedures
- Ensure that objectives set within company KPI’s are achieved in line with strategic company goal
- Provide cover and support to the Operations and Compliance manager as required, in particular during periods of annual leave
Skills required for the role:
- Logistics and/or distribution experience is essential
- Experience in shipping pharmaceuticals products is a preference
- A good and thorough understanding of GDP is desirable
- A passion to provide excellent service levels
- Potential educated to degree level but not essential
- Ability to work without supervision utilising own initiative but very much a team player
- The ability to multi-task and to work well under pressure
- Excellent self-planning and organisational skills
- High level of attention to detail
- Able to provide proactive solutions to resolve issues in an effective and swift manner
- Negotiation skills
- Proficient in MS Office packages such as Excel and Word
This role is a Monday – Friday role 37.5 hours per week. 3 days from home and 2 days in the office Tuesday & Thursday.
